چکیده
Abstract Stable isotopes analysis (SIA) of carbon and nitrogen provides valuable information about trophic interactions animal feeding habits. We used near‐infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) support vector machines (SVM) to develop a model for screening isotopic ratios ( δ 13 C 15 N) in samples from living animals. applied this method on dried blood birds previously analyzed N test whether NIRS can be accurately estimate ratios. Our results show prediction accuracy R 2 > 0.65, RMSEP < 0.28) both N, representing 12% the measurement range study. study suggests that provide time‐ cost‐efficient evaluate stable isotope when substantial differences or are expected, such as discriminating among different levels diet.

Determination of forage quality of available species is one of the fundamentalfactors for the management of rangelands. Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS)was used to analysis the Nitrogen (N), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Dry MatterDigestibility (DMD) and Metabolizable Energy (ME) content of three phenological stages(vegetative, flowering and seeding) of Bromus tomentellus samples in ...

متن کاملGrowth versus metabolic tissue replacement in mouse tissues determined by stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis
Stable-isotope signatures in animal tissues presumably reflect the local food web. However, that assumption may be complicated by differential nutrient routing, fractionation, and the possibility that large organisms are not in isotopic equilibrium with seasonally available food sources. Additionally, the rate at which organisms incorporate the isotopic signature of a food is largely unknown. I...
